Currently I'm...

I'm thinking about how calm it is in house right now. Despite the house still needing a bit more cleaning, it's getting better each day. I know that soon when I start working we're going to have to start thinking about a new plan to help with cleaning and cooking, but for now it's fine the way it is.

I'm loving the fact that my little miss is starting to sing. She will surprise me and her papi by just bursting out songs that she knows on Disney Junior or just the ABCs. Granted, she doesn't exactly say each word right and does more gibberish but I'm happy that singing accompanies the dancing! I'm also loving the fact that my husband and I are doing pretty good right now. We've been joking around and flirting and just having calm talks at times. There are still time where we don't see eye to eye, but that's a marriage for you.

I'm planning on having Senegalese twists done to my hair next weekend. I was at first planning on doing a short style but then I saw Brandy Norwood's instagram and saw a hairstyle she was rocking with the twists. I was SOLD! So I asked the hair braiders I usually go to if they did them and they do! So that's on the way! I'm also planning on trying to get Sofia's sleep schedule back the way it was. It was a late schedule for bed because Juan would get home so late and I wanted her to spend some time with him before it was time for bed. She would make up for the time with a later nap during the day. But since I might be working soon, it would be a good idea to get her back on the time she was.

I'm watching a new novella from Mexico called Cuidado de Angel or Beware of the Angel. It's complicated storyline so far but I've gotten the gist somewhat. It's about this girl named Marichuy who has a troubled past but she makes up for it by helping other people, though not in the best of ways like stealing and lying and partying. She ends up with this really cute psychoanalyst and from where I am, they seem to be attracted to each other, but there is no relationship yet. I'm determined to watch this to the end, but it's a long one like the Korean soap operas. I seem to love watching soap from other countries, but I can't stand the ones here! Why? I have no idea. I just can't get into them. Anyway, if you are interested in watching, I usually watch on Viki.com as it's the only site that has English subtitles.

Ok...ok...don't judge me, but I'm currently in love with the song Anaconda by Nicki Minaj. I'm sure there are questions like "Why would you like such a vulgar song?" I love the song as a whole, but I love the fact that it's Baby Got Back in a remixed sort of way. What other artist have you heard that has used that song for their own? I'll wait. I already have a writing scene ready for this baby too! Some of you might like this, some of you won't. Everybody has their own opinion. But for me, this rocks!

I'm currently in the middle of reading books off of my tablet from Barnes and Noble.com. It's a good place to find some free books to just relax with. They might not be the best edited or the best storylines, but they do the trick for a late night when I'm trying to go to sleep. With that being said, I don't have an exact book, I'm currently reading.

I'm currently about to start Chapter 15 on Take Two and Call Me in the Morning. I'm excited, but I'm disappointed at the same time that it's taking me so long to finish the summer season of my book. I was wanting to write according to the real seasons but autumn is approaching and I'm still nowhere near the middle of summer. Better get to writing!

Other than Instagram, I haven't been taking much pictures, but I do have a few photoshoots in the near future. The first is my brother and sister-in-laws Daniel and Fatima for their maternity shoot. They will be having their little boy in October so it will be a good time to get it done. I'm planning on seeing if Fatima will get a white dress or maybe even just her bare belly and I can get some blue paint to put their hand prints on it. That will be so adorable! The shoot after that will be my aunt, Kim and my little cousins in a autumn shoot at the park. I'm excited and can't wait to get some pictures done!

Yep...Still Here...But Not Really...

I have been in such a writing mode on my stories lately so the blog is a bit quiet for now. But best believe I'll be back to writing on whatever's going on in my life! Stay tuned!

My Cherie Amour

as sung by Stevie Wonder

My cherie amour, lovely as a summer day
My cherie amour, distant as the milky way
My cherie amour, pretty little one that I adore
You're the only girl my heart beats for
How I wished that you were mine

August Wishes for Me- Style

I have been looking for a job lately and everybody knows that with a job there is money. So Wishes is going to be a post that show what I'm really wanting in life and inspiration for me to get out there and get it. Who knows? I hope that it can inspire somebody else at the same time! I have been wanting a new kind of wardrobe lately; all my life it's been jeans and t-shirts that were too cute for somebody of my age. My mom is always a good motivator too as she's always wearing the most stylish clothing ideas. So I've been searching around Pinterest, Torrid and other sites to find styles that I wouldn't mind wearing and having up in my closet.

One: This open front fringe kimono cover up from Torrid ($48.50) was on the top of my list and caught my eye first. I love this whole outfit right down to the shoes which are also from Torrid. I can see myself wearing this during the fall and over at family outings.

Two: This whole outfit screams ME! I love the whole pants with boots look and I do wear it from time to time in the fall and winter but the problem with this outfit is that I can rarely find boots that fit my gigantic calves and can barely find a jacket that can fit my huge arms. If anybody has any suggestions for that I'm happy to hear it!

Three: I'm more used to working in administrative jobs so I'm hoping in the future that I will have one in that field. If so, I need to find some good work savvy clothing as the ones I used to have are outdated and mostly likely don't fit me. So seeing this outfit, makes me think I would work with this. A nice pencil skirt and a flowing top would suit my body type well with a stylish belt. Now shoes would more likely be flats than heels or even wedges if I can fit that into whatever dress code the office has.

Four: Va-Va-Voom! I fell in love with this bodycon dress, leggings and boots combo and have settled it in  my mind as a future purchase. This lovely lady in the picture, Lauren who is from The Pear Shape obtained it from this site: Anthropologie. The website is a bit pricey for me so I looked for more a more money friendly version, which I found here on Fashion to Figure at around 40 dollars. Just add some black leggings or tights with black boots and I'll be rocking it for work or winter!

What do you think? I'm pretty sure I can work with this so keep a look out for posts with one of my style wishes! Next time will be home purchases! Keep on wishing for what you want, folks!

NOM NOM NOM- Pinterest Recipes I Have Made

I have never really be a cook growing up in my household as I wasn't really fond of hot things like the oven and stove and frying things-to be honest I still wouldn't really fry anything, I'll leave that to professionals-and I only made food because my mom told me I had to make dinner so when I got married to Juan and we moved into our house, I realized that "Damn...I have to feed him and Sofia, don't I?" Not knowing anything really to make other than what simple things I grew up with (like spaghetti or frozen foods), I turned to Pinterest to help and right away I started to change into somebody I never thought I would be. A woman who cooked. As funny as that sounds, I was amazed by how I could make something so delicious for my family to eat. I haven't had any problems with anything I have made; Juan seems to lick his plate and go for seconds so, I'll keep trying my best to make meals and sweets from recipes made on Pinterest. It's my to-go-to spot!

Here are some meals and sweets I've made in the past:

Chicken and Avocado Salad

This was the very first dish that I made from Pinterest. I had to take away the cilantro that usually comes with it because El Rey isn't fond of it. But in the end, it was a nice meal to eat. I really don't find myself making it much because it can get messy with the avocados.

Cajun Shrimp Alfredo

I have deviated from this recipe some as I wanted shrimp instead of chicken, but it still tasted great!
  Recipe

Chicken Tortilla Bake

This dish is awesome and its the first casserole I made! My husband and I give it 10 stars! It takes a bit of preparation but is easy to cook and delicious if you like Mexican food type meals. Especially with lots of cheese.

Creamy Burrito Casserole

Another delicious recipe. I actually make this one a lot during the fall and winter. It tastes just like a burrito you would get at a Mexican restaurant. I love it with lots of sour cream.

Doritos Cheesy Chicken Casserole

I made this for a dinner visit from our neighbors next door to us Kathy, Jose with their kids and it was a hit. Jose loved it and kept coming back for more. It's cheesy and the Doritos give it a flavorable crunch.

Salsa Chicken

I made salsa chicken for my first crock pot dish. It was nice but could have had a bit more flavor. Juan liked it though.

Butterbeer

I am a huge fan of Harry Potter and had always wondered in the books what Butterbeer tasted like. So when I found a recipe for it, I jumped right on it! It was everything I thought it would be, sweet and creamy.

 Chicken and Dumpling Casserole

This was a good recipe for dinner and it tasted sooo good. The dumpling part was soft and chewy and everybody loved it

 Pancake Squares

We're getting to the end of my list and I have put my favorite two for last. Pancake Squares is a good breakfast meal for those who want pancakes but don't have pancake mix. Made correctly, it makes a wonderful substitute that tastes just like it. I make it frequently.

Creamy White Chicken Enchiladas

This is my all time favorite recipe so far that I have learned from Pinterest. I would say that it is the recipe that I will make for all family gatherings. I have made with corn tortillas and flour -my mom is allergic to corn- and they both were excellent! This is a great dish!

Happy Eating!

Stumble of the Day- 50 Free Books

Sofia loves books! She may not know what all of the words are or how to pronounce them but there are so many times I turn and see her looking at one of her many books. So far there isn't a story time in our schedule as she loves to turn pages over and over again. So I'm trying to find a solution so that I can read to Sofia and have her pay more attention than usual.

So while stumbling along on StumbleUpon, I found this entry on Not Quite Susie that was originally a chicken recipe, but after exploring the blog for a bit I found another entry about free children's books for online purchase on Amazon. WHUT?! This is what I've been looking for, seeing as my mom just gave me her Le Pan tablet recently. I think that I'm going to go ahead and start downloading today so I can start reading to her and not worry so much about her trying to move the book all over the place! Storytime...here we come!

Disney 30 Day Challenge- Day 12

Favorite Non-Animal Sidekick

This one was so very hard as there are so few non-animal ones but in the end I picked Silvermist from Disney Fairies. When I first saw Tinker Bell, I was drawn to her the most with her beautiful blue outfit and her caring personality. She's always been my favorite.
