WUT?! I'm Nominated?! WOOT!

I have seen this kind of nomination post going around on different blogs and I just wished that one day I would have that honor and now I can say that I do! I have been nominated for the Liebster Award by Lauren at Twin Tested, Pin Approved. I am so humbled by this and just so thankful for her making the time to even read my stuff. She is awesome in my books. There are others who have been nominated as well and I want to wish them congratulations! They are on their way with some excellent blogs. So now, it's my turn!

Here is what is involved with said Liebster Award:
1. You must link back to the person who nominated you.
2. You have to answer all the questions you were given by the person who nominated you.
3. You must choose 5-11 bloggers who have less than 200 followers, and come up with a new set of 11 questions for them.

4. Let your nominees know they’ve been nominated.

My Questions from Lauren
1. What has been your favorite family vacation or vacation in general so far?
It was a hard choice between Jamaica and Disney World and I would go back to either one of them in a heartbeat but I'm going to have to choose when I went to Disney World with my mom for my 21st birthday. It's everything you can imagine and then some.

2. What color looks good on you?
Wow...that's a hard one too. I'm going to say turquoise

3. Who taught you how to cook?
My mother taught me general stuff, but I learned more complicated recipes from Pinterest. I've found it really is easy if you just pay attention and do exactly as it says.

4. What made you decide to start your blog?
Once again, I got inspiration from my mother. She was starting a little blogging career from a company and I just thought it was so cool that she was putting her life out there for people to know about. So I followed suit.

5. Who was your favorite teacher?
I had such an awesome math teacher named Mr. Tuttle who was that kind of teacher who didn't judge you if you didn't know how math worked or struggled.

6. If you had to wear one pair of shoes for the rest of your life, which pair would you choose?
Boots that could fit over my calves

7. Beach or Mountains?
Beach for sure!

8. What word do you use to describe yourself and why?
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious- I can be complicated...but fun too!

9. What movie can you watch over and over?
The Princess and the Frog- Even though it's now for Sofia's benefit, I really don't mind it either! I sing to every song too!

10. What’s your favorite pin/pin board on Pinterest?
There are so many boards that I love but I would have to say I love my photography board. It helps me learn more about the craft.

11. Who inspires you?
Many various people inspire me to do better in life. When I see awesome bloggers or see amazing photographers or excellent writers, they inspire me to do more in life. To make something of myself.

Blogs I nominate for the Liebster Award.
1. A Joyful Kind of Life
2. Peach State of Mind
3. The Latina Lens
4. Shiraz In My Sippy Cup
5. Baby Button Brown
6. Stevie's Balancing Act

Questions for the Nominees
1. What is your dream vacation?
2. What is something you are great at?
3. Coffee or Tea?
4. Favorite animal?
5. A perfect night for you?
6. An object you can't go without?
7. Why did you decide to start blogging?
8. Are you where you want to be in life?
9. What makes you extremely happy?
10. All time favorite food?
11. Genie with three wishes: What are they?

Congrats to the nominees! Let's keep up the good work, bloggers!

Currently I'm...

Currently I'm thinking about how slow this healing process is for my stomach. I really hope that I can be at least 90% for the last Talent Show. I don't want to have to be in the back of the dance line. That would be embarrassing after all that time in the front leading.

Currently I'm loving the fact that Sofia has so many different likes. Today, she surprised the heck out of me by trying to copy ballet moves off of Sesame Street. I didn't know that she had been paying attention so well. I nearly teared up at seeing her doing that. Are there ballet lessons in the future? We'll see. I'm also loving the fact that my mother gave me her Le Pan tablet. I don't really know why she wasn't into it, but if it's not broke don't fix it! This is even more fun and will be convenient at my in-laws house.

Currently I'm planning on getting glasses. The ultimate goal is to finally learn how to drive and in order for me to even pass to get a permit to start drivers school, I need to be able to see. So glasses are first and foremost. Then after that I will start looking into Searrs driving school for classes. Also a birthday party is being planned for a certain someone but I'll put details about that at a later time.

Currently, I am watching a couple of shows. One is Teen Wolf. I love Teen Wolf so much. I only started getting into it last year but since then I've gotten the complete seasons and am recording the new season now on TV. Then there is The Legend of Korra. Just like Teen Wolf, I started watching Avatar: The Last Airbender on Netflix last year and fell in love so it was only justified that I watched The Legend of Korra too. It doesn't disappoint me like some people and I plan to get all of it's seasons as well. My guilty pleasure show is one on Hulu called East Los High. It's like a raunchy ghetto high school drama and I can't get enough of it. Check it out if you have Hulu.

Currently, I'm listening to Active Child. I have a broad taste in music and from watching Teen Wolf I found this beautiful song called Silhouette that was made by Active Child. He has a beautiful singing voice and it helps that Ellie Goulding was on there too.  Here is the link to the song on Spotify.
Active Child – Silhouette (feat. Ellie Goulding)

Currently I'm reading Mine by Katy Evans. I'm a fan of romance novels. Sizzling hot ones at that! They are such good inspiration for my writing. There is something about a romance with a underground fighting champion who is so manly it just oozes out of the words. It's a must read if you are in to erotic romances. I also just got through reading Fifty Shades Freed for the 3rd time. Yes, I'm a fan of the books (sorry to all you non-fifty shades folks!) and I will be there seeing the movie. Probably not when it opens, but close to it.

I'm almost done writing Chapter 14 on Take Two and Call Me in the Morning. I have been slacking on this chapter for some reason. I think the hot scene had me balking a tiny bit as when I write those scenes, my head just gets so mixed up with what to write. The scene came out great though and I'm happy I got past it. Now to just finish the damn thing! :P

Asami leaned back on his bed, her eyes inquisitive. “So, when are you going to tell me more about your new girlfriend?” Hikaru paused at the word “girlfriend” and then walked out after drying his hands off. He set the record straight with sister.

“She’s not my girlfriend.”

“Then what is she? A booty call?”

Hikaru scoffed looking to the side. “Hardly.”

“Then what?” Asami shook her head; not understanding what this was to him.  Hikaru shrugged his shoulders, trying to make it as simple as possible.

“We are exclusively dating.”

At his words, Asami gave a huge smile. Her look was belittling and it rubbed Hikaru the wrong way. “I hate to break it to you, dude. That’s a relationship and people around here call that boyfriend and girlfriend status.” she explained.

Hikaru crossed his arms, wondering why he had to discuss this with his way younger sister. “Call it what you want, but that’s not what I see it as.”

Asami laughed soft, looking down at her phone. “You’re dumb.” she muttered.

Last but not least, I'm currently photographing or more so just got through photographing Sofia yesterday during a summer rainstorm we rarely get here in Ft. Worth. I took advantage of it and let her just run outside and play, snapping pictures here and there for more material for my portfolio on the site and FB. The results were amazing and I do believe I need to give Miss Sofia a raise for being such a good model.

Disney 30 Day Challenge- Day 6

Prettiest Princess

That was easy to answer and I thought of it right away even though Disney is known for their beautiful princesses.

Princess Rapunzel

When I saw her on Tangled at first I was like "Meh, she's just like the other princesses..." but then as some scenes came and passed, I found myself saying "Wow...she's stunning." Her eyes-beautiful shade of green, her eyelashes- just perfect and of course her beautiful long hair. I'm not too fond of the short look at the end but because of the reason, it still works for me!

If I had a second, it would be Jasmine.

Disney 30 Day Challenge- Day 5

Favorite Kiss

Disney is known for their movie kisses and there are some pretty good ones. The one I remember seeing the most was Ariel and Eric's and Beauty and the Beast had a pretty good one too. But I think my all time favorite kiss that instantly comes to mind is:

Aladdin and Princess Jasmine

Throwback Days || Jamaica Trip- Part One

During the year of 2010 when Juan and I were in a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship and before we decided to move into our apartment, I asked him if he wanted to go to Jamaica with me for my 25th birthday. It took him a little while to answer, but eventually he said yes. We started planning for months and months, doing overtime hours to make more money to spend. Juan simplified the the situation by paying for the whole trip for us. We almost weren't able to go at all because of a car accident on my birthday. Paloma was messed up pretty bad, but we were fine and were able to still go.

After a night of packing, El Rey and I retired for the night and after about three to four hours of sleep, we woke up to go to the airport. Juan looked his finest with jeans and a black shirt from the city he was born in: Chihuahua. I wore a multicolored tye-dye maxi dress with a beaded necklace and bracelet to complete the outfit. We made it to DFW airport and flew for an hour and a half to Atlanta, GA so that we could get on our connecting flight.

The terminal we had to go to was far away so we had to hurry to our gate. We made it just in time! This flight was longer; 2 hours and 10 minutes to be exact, but we dealt with it. Juan by taking a nap and myself with reading and listening to music. After the two hours, we found ourselves on the beautiful island of Jamaica. It was like the photos and then some!  We went through customs and immigration first off, then we went outside where our driver Roy waited for us. We got in the van he brought to us and then our Jamaican vacation officially began.

One cool thing about Jamaican drivers is that they drive on the left side and another is that they drive quite wild and fast. I had never felt more scared and more excited at the same time. It was like the Jamaicans all respected each other on the road despite how crazy they were driving. The only reason for them to honk at all was to greet one another.

It took about forty five minutes or so to get to our resort: Country Country Cottages. When Juan and I got there, Monique who was the manager of the resort greeted us and showed us to our cottage style room. When I say cottage style, I mean it was actually like a small house. We had a porch on two sides and a little table for if we wanted to sit and relax outside.

After we got settled in our room, we decided to go out and eat. We walked down the side walk and we instantly came across a gorgeous view of the beach and ocean. I was so thrilled! I so wanted to put my feet in the cerulean waves.

I did so.

The water was cold at first, but soon after a while, each wave that came over my foot felt warmer and warmer. Greatness. We played at the beach for a while; picking up seashells, then I went up to the tiny restaurant to eat lunch with my man. I ordered ham and cheese quesadillas and Juan ordered barbecue jerk wings. Mine was good but his was better. They were so good, I had to order my own to save his for him to eat. The wings were spicy but oh, so damn good.We paid with Jamaican dollars, which in my opinion was much more expensive than US dollars.

After eating we went back to the hotel for some quality time together, and when evening came headed back to the restaurant for dinner. Juan had a jerk chicken club sandwich with french fries  and I had a burger and fries. Our mixed drinks were as excellent as the food. So good that when I got back to the cottage for the night, I fell out asleep, exhausted even though the chirping frogs were singing all through the night.
